Maximum moisture. Zero weight. pH‑balanced hydration for every curl Science that serves your curls — locks in moisture, smooths the cuticle, never greasy or heavy, vegan and cruelty‑free The weightless formula — rich argan oil, grape seed, soothing lavender Formulated at pH 4.5 — the slightly acidic range where your cuticle lies flat, sealing moisture in
One step, not two

This jar is your everyday leave‑in.

Curl cream or leave‑in conditioner: do you need both? Not with this one. It conditions the strand, seals the water in, and gives soft, touchable definition in a single step, then gets out of the way for whatever you layer on top.

Reach for this jar if your hair…

  • Feels dry a day after wash day, from loose 2C waves to tight 4C coils
  • Is fine or low‑density and goes flat under heavy butters
  • Is protein‑sensitive or coconut‑sensitive
  • Wants moisture and softness more than hold

Layer something on top if…

Cream first for moisture, then a styler for hold. The cream is the base layer; it isn’t a cast, and it isn’t meant to be.

What's inside, and why it works

Light oils, chosen on purpose.

Behentrimonium methosulfate + cetearyl alcohol

A plant‑based conditioning emulsifier. Its positive charge clings to the strand and lays the cuticle flat. Cetearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol: the softening kind, not the drying kind.

Grape seed oil

One of the lightest plant oils, high in linoleic acid, so it adds shine without weighing fine curls down.

Argan + olive oils

Oleic‑rich oils that absorb into the strand to soften it instead of sitting on top.

Vegetable glycerin

A humectant: it draws water into the hair and helps hold it there.

Burdock root, aloe + vitamin E

They round it out. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects the oils.

Lavender oil

A soothing botanical, and part of the scent.

pH 4.5–5.5. The slightly acidic range where the cuticle lies flat. Tap water sits at 7 and lifts the cuticle; this brings it back down. FREE FROM mineral oil, petroleum, sulfates, parabens. No silicones. Vegan and cruelty‑free. Made in our own manufacturing space in Dallas.

Smooth in, don’t rinse

How to use it.

  1. Start on wet or dry hair. Soaking wet gives you the lowest frizz.
  2. Warm a quarter‑sized amount between your palms. More for longer or denser hair, a little less for fine waves.
  3. Smooth it through in sections. Root to tip. Don’t rinse.
  4. Wear it alone, or layer on top. Curl Enhancing Custard for a sleek wash‑and‑go, Twist Whip Butter for a twist‑out.
  5. Refresh on day two. A mist of Curl Hydration Spray, then scrunch.

What to expect: soft, touchable definition: a moisturizing curl cream, not a cast. Frizz stays lowest when you apply to soaking‑wet hair, so judge it once your hair is fully dry.

Questions, answered.

Is it a curl cream or a leave‑in conditioner?

Both, in one step. The conditioning emulsifier and light oils do the leave‑in’s job; the glycerin and oils give the soft definition of a curl cream. No need to layer two products to get moisture.

Will it weigh down fine hair?

It shouldn’t. Grape seed is one of the lightest plant oils, and the formula is featherweight. Start with a little less than a quarter‑sized amount on fine waves and build up.

Is it rich enough for Type 4 coils?

Yes. NaturallyCurly’s Editors’ Choice Awards voted it Best Moisturizer for Type 4 hair. For very high‑porosity coils, apply to soaking‑wet hair and seal with Twist Whip Butter.

Wet hair or dry hair?

Either. On wet hair it’s your wash‑day leave‑in and gives the lowest frizz. On dry hair it’s a mid‑week moisture top‑up: a small amount, smoothed over the length.

Does it give hold?

Soft hold: touchable definition, not a cast. For longer‑lasting definition, layer Curl Enhancing Custard on top.

Is it protein‑free and coconut‑oil‑free?

Both. No proteins and no coconut oil, so it’s safe for protein‑sensitive and coconut‑sensitive curls.

What does pH‑balanced mean here?

It’s a number, not a slogan. Hair and scalp sit at roughly 4.5–5.5; tap water is 7 and lifts the cuticle. This cream is formulated at 4.5–5.5, so the cuticle lies flat and seals moisture in.

What’s it free from?

Mineral oil, petroleum, sulfates, parabens. No silicones, no proteins, no coconut oil. Vegan and cruelty‑free. Made in our own manufacturing space in Dallas.
