The Wash Day Reset is both Babassu jars and the spray that follows them, in one box. Wet one strand and stretch it. If it snaps, it's thirsty, and the protein-free Babassu Deep Conditioner is the jar for that wash. If it sags and doesn't bounce back, the protein inside has gaps, and the Babassu Hair Therapy Mask is the jar. Most heads need both answers in the same month. The Mask contains protein, so this set is not protein-free. All three are pH-balanced at 4.5–5.5.

Why it works
- Strengthen: the Mask's hydrolyzed rice and wheat proteins are broken into small, water-soluble pieces, small enough to settle into worn spots along the strand, so hair gets its strength and bounce back without a stiff coating. Olive and babassu oils put the softness back.
- Moisturize: the Deep Conditioner has no protein. Babassu seed oil melts close to body temperature, so it spreads and absorbs instead of sitting greasy on the strand. Avocado oil sinks into the shaft, and panthenol pulls water in and holds it.
- Hydrate: water is the moisture; glycerin is a humectant that holds it in the strand. Argan and rose flower oils add a light softness.
Moisture every wash, protein only when the strand asks. Pile protein onto hair that has no gaps and it goes stiff; skip it when the strand has gaps and it sags. The wet-strand test tells you which jar, every wash day. Every step sits at pH 4.5–5.5, the slightly acidic range where the cuticle lies flat.
How to use it
- Wet one strand and stretch it. Snaps → Deep Conditioner. Sags and doesn't bounce back → Hair Therapy Mask. Bounces back → leave it alone and wash and go.
- Cleanse as usual — our Coconut Shea or Neem Tea Tree Shampoo Bar pairs well.
- Apply the jar the test chose generously, root to tip. Cover with a plastic cap and add heat: 30 minutes for the Deep Conditioner, 10–15 minutes for the Mask. Rinse with cool water.
- Mist each wet section with Curl Hydration Spray — enough to dampen, not soak.
- Seal with your leave-in: Curl Moisture Cream, Sweet Almond Heavy Cream or Twist Whip Butter.
What to expect
After the Deep Conditioner: softer, easier-to-detangle hair on the first rinse; give it three wash days to judge how long the moisture lasts. After the Mask: strands feel firmer and bouncier after the first treatment; breakage is slower to judge, so give it three or four treatments. If your hair ever feels stiff or straw-like after the Mask, stay with the Deep Conditioner until it softens. Between wash days, a mist of Curl Hydration Spray refreshes.
